Stay in your laneĀ

2 Timothy 4:7 says, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

As Christians I believe we all want to look back on life and say that we have finished the good race. We kept the faith. We fought the good fight. We did it!

How do we do it is the questions. How do we get to the end and make the proclamation the apostle made. How do we raise our hands in victory for this race we call life.

Have you ever seen a track runner, in the height of the race. No matter what happens, they never leave their lane. In fact leaving their lane may cause them to loose the race.

The other day, as I was going for my evening jog, this verse came to me. As I looked down on the track, I I noticed that I was jogging in between lanes. One minute I was in lane 3, then I shifted to lane 2, and before you knew it I was in lane 1. Suddenly this verse came to me and I thought, "God teach me to stay in my lane, for this race of life.
Some days are easier then others. Sometimes we feel like we can walk the straight path and we are so pumped with the spirit of God that nothing takes us off track. Then the strong winds come and before we know it we are in someone else's lane, depending on their strength and what God has given them. We start to run the race of others, when God put everything we needed in our lane. Staying in our lane means we have to push through the things that God has already gone before us to make a way for us. However when we steer from our lane, we start to face things that were never intended for us to face. Thats because, thats not your lane.
All good athletes have discipline. With discipline comes victory. Therefore today I pray that our lives become one of discipline. That God would give us the strength and courage to stay in our lanes. That we would gain discipline to run our race, and when the runner in the next lane tries to get us off track, we would be so focused on God that nothing will get us off course. STAY IN YOUR LANE!

God Bless

Double yoked egg

Double yoked egg

Hello Everyone
I hope you're wondering why the title of this post is called double yoked egg. I have to be honest, the premise is coming from lessons learned from my very own back yard.
Recently our family received a gift of five chickens. Maybe you're thinking thats not a gift you would want, however it was something we were long waiting for, and as a result we were praising God for the gift he had given us. We waited anxiously for these chickens to begin to lay eggs. When the first chicken laid eggs, you would have thought it was christmas in a five year olds house.

After a while we realized that one of the chickens lays double yoked eggs. Being unsure of how this happened I started to do some research on this topic. It turns out that double yoked eggs are a delicacy, and that true egg farmers (not us) seek these based upon the weight of the egg. GO FIGURE

Well a hen who is laying a double yokes egg actually lays this eggs as a result of her unfertilized egg (ovum) falling to soon. (Stay with me). Typically a hen lays an egg with an unfertilized egg and then the chicken farmer picks it up and sells it. Every yoke is a hens egg that didn't become a baby chick (when I say egg I mean egg as in a females fertile part). When two yokes appear it means that two eggs dropped (one before it was suppose to) and made it into one chicken egg. So she ovulated two eggs when she was only suppose to ovulate one.

For my chickens, this particular hen only lays one egg every 3-4 days as opposed to every day like my other ones.

As Im washing my eggs one morning, I felt in my spirit this message:

This is what happens so many times with all of you. I have already set my plans in place for you and you get ahead of me and therefore hatch 2 yokes when I only meant for you to hatch one. Somehow you wrap it up into a delicacy when that was never my plan. You might think its makes my will move faster but it actually slows down my progress.

This was so powerful to me. First I thanked God for teaching me, through his creation, how he wants to guide my life. I don't need to interfere in what God wants to do, because while I think I am actually moving his will forward, I am actually taking 3-4 times as long to allow his spirit to move like He wants to move. God doesn't need my help. I don't have to go ahead of Him.

Today I encourage you not to be a double yoked chicken. Don't jump in front of what God wants for your life. So many times we are burdened in our minds on doing Gods will that we actually stifle His will.

I am going to leave you with Ecclesiastes 5:2 where Solomon tells us "God is in heaven and you are here on earth, so let your words be few." Here Solomon was talking about how we approach God, but I think this can be applicable to every are of our lives. God is in heaven and you are here on earth. Why would you think that God needs your help. Our only desire should be to be completely submissive and wait on God.

Don't get two yokes and think its a delicacy, remember the cholesterol is in the yoke!

Have a blessed day

4 women with one goal:

What started as a dream, has turned into a reality. Nellie and Joanne are the mother and daughter dual that started it all. After recovering from the hurt and pain of abuse and rejection, they knew that God was going to turn what was meant for evil into good. Now doors of H.O.P.E. ministries travels the world, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with all who will listen.
The story of the cross is the true story of redemptions, and through the power of the Holy Spirit this group brings encouragement to women everywhere. Jesus is our hope. we are His diamonds.
This team is working on building a HOPE center where women can come and have a season of restoration, and they take back all that has been stolen from them. We want to make disciples that go out into all the world to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
